Mechanical Ventilation and Cardiopulmonary Interaction - Básico

7TH EDITION

The purpose of this course is to interactively address the effects of mechanical ventilation on the cardiovascular system, and to offer knowledge for practicing the method with patients who have respiratory failure at various levels. The program includes theoretical sessions on respiratory physiology and on cardiopulmonary interaction, basic mechanical ventilation, monitoring the ventilation and cardiopulmonary mechanics, in addition to real time demonstrations, clinical case studies and simulations to encourage practice.

Depoimento

Care for severe patients involves respiratory assistance, where artificial breathing is often necessary. These devices have been the object of many studies and research efforts, as an area where Brazilian experts—including our faculty—have achieved national and international projection. IRCAD’s structure has provided us with a differentiated educational approach, with real time demonstrations and presentation of clinical cases involving active audience participation. The highlight of the event is an in vivo realistic simulation, where advanced mechanical ventilation is used, as well as state-of-the-art concomitant hemodynamic monitoring and echocardiography.
